Valencia festivals are music, fireworks, open air parties, emotions. You can be part of unique festivities and enjoy a variaty of breathtaking fiestas. Everything is possible in these events full of history, respect and traditions.

After a year preparing monuments, Valencia celebrates the Fallas in March. Valencia's big feast, it takes place in the week of 19th March. Gigantic works of papier-maché art fill the streets, competing in ingenuity and creativity and awaiting the end of the fiesta: fire. Art, colour, powder, firefworks, music and fire fill the city.
Moors and Christians
In April, a very old tradition dating back to the 16th century commemorates the confrontation that took place between Moorish and Christian soldiers in the 13th century Is very spectacular where over 5.000 people take part marching in procession with the accompaniment of music and with all the pomp and majesty you could hope for, the various groups that make up the factions march with sumptuous costumes. It ends with the spectacular final battle in which thousands of kilos of gunpowder is used, ending in victory for the Christians.
Holy week
Colourful processions, mainly on the coastal areas, where participants wear spectacular costumes accompanied by the sound of the drums and the absolute silence of public and participants is one of the most amazing details for the visitor.

23rd June, people meet around lots of bonfires, jumping on them, and having dinner by the seashore.

Last wednesday of August in Buñol, west from Valencia, 50,000 people participate and throw more than 150,000 ripe tomatoes.
